Sri Lanka to Spend Rs 4bn to Develop Mannar District

A sum of Rs 4 billion is to be spend under the Uthuru Wasanthaya programme for the development of the Mannar district.

The Road Development Authority has already completed construction of the Thallady new bridge at a cost of two billion rupees, under the supervision of the head of the Uthuru Wasanthaya Task force Basil Rajapakse and the defence secretary Gotabhaya Rajapakse, on the instructions of the President.

Construction of the roadway from Murunkan to Silawathura in Mannar is now underway. The Road Development Authority says construction of the Araviyara bridge is also being successfully carried out.
