Sri Lanka's Power and Energy Ministry has organized a national energy exhibition, an energy week and the National Energy Efficiency Award ceremony from August 3-8 at the BMICH in Colombo.
President Mahinda Rajapaksa is to inaugurate the event on August 3.
Minister of Power and Energy Patali Champika Ranawaka said the Ministry's initiatives expect to create awareness on the importance of energy saving and the use of sustainable energy.
He said that the objective of the week-long event was to provide publicity and create awareness of the energy industry among all stake holders in the industry.
The five-day event is organized by the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority (SLSEA).
The Vidulka Energy Symposium is organized by the SLSEA in collaboration with the Power and Energy Ministry.
The National Energy Efficiency Award recognizes organizations that have achieved substantial savings through the implementation of energy efficiency practices.
The energy exhibition will be the first ever national exhibition dedicated for energy. The exhibition will include more than 100 commercial and institutional stalls.
