A Conference of U.S.Business Executives will be held in Colombo from 12th to 14th October. The conference has been organized by the Sri Lankan Embassy in the United States and the Office of the US Trade Representative, the US Department of Commerce, the US embassy in Colombo and the Sri Lanka Trade Ministry.
This is the second annual conference to attract US investment to Sri Lanka which would give U.S. business executives an opportunity expand their businesses in Sri Lanka
Sri Lankan Ambassador to the United States Mr. Jaliya Wickremasinghe has said that following the Business Conference held last year potential for U.S.Businesses in Sri Lanka has increased.
When President Mahinda Rajapaksa met US investors during a business development luncheon last week, he explained to them the benefits of doing business with Sri Lanka, which include Sri Lanka’s free trade agreements with India and Pakistan that gives US businesses duty-free access to those large markets, as well as relaxed foreign investment regulations, and the enormous potential available locally in the fields of infrastructure development.(niz).
