Sri Lankan war heroes should have been the deserving winners of Nobel peace prize for having eliminated terrorism and for sending a clear message to the entire world by caring for the war-displaced as their own, said prime minister Rathnasiri Wickremanayake.
The premier was speaking at a public rally in Horana yesterday (Oct. 13).
He noted that there were neither bomb blasts nor killings any more, but no one speaks about the regular findings of explosives and weapons with terrorists, still being aided by certain countries.
Criticisms are being leveled against our war heroes who defeated terrorism and created a free state, Mr. Wickremanayake said, adding that they were well-disciplined and followers of the Buddhist philosophy.
