Sri Lanka will celebrate its 63rd Independence Day Friday (4th of February) with a grand scale ceremony in Kataragama in the Uva region. This is the second Independence Day in a terrorism-free country since the defeat of LTTE terrorists in May 2009.
The event marks the remarkable sense of living in a truly peaceful country that march towards making Sri Lanka Wonder of Asia.
Today, Venue for Friday’s ceremony had a rehearsal of the events. We produce some of the salient features of that colourful event.
